Very nice campground. We have stayed here several times and enjoy our stay every time. If your a beach person this is the place to camp. Pet friendly but no pets allowed on the beach. You can take a short drive to public beach where pets are allowed. Book well in advance, campground always full.

Anastasia is a great park to base a First Coast vacation at. Located minutes from St. Augustine you have ready access to Jacksonville, Titusville, and Daytona. The campground consists of several loops. Two of the loops are for small trailers or tenters. Most of the sites there, to my taste, are too small and too close together. All of the other loops have nicely sized sites that are well screened from each other. The bathhouses are not very large but are either new or recently refurbished. The showers provided ample hot water. A coin operated washer and dryer are available if you need to do laundry. The beach at Anastasia is very nice. The local concession operator (Island Joes) has various beach items for rent at reasonable prices. Lifeguards are on-duty during posted hours. While at the park you can hike the nature trail as well as see the original coquina quarries that provided the materials for the construction of the Castillo de San Marcos. I highly recommend this campground and intend to visit again.

This is one of the nicest state parks that I have stayed at in Florida. The park is about 2 miles from downtown St. Augustine, and provides easy access. There are a lot of things to see and do in the area. St. Augustine itself is a beautiful and historic city. The park had very nice, private campsites. There were a couple here and there that were somewhat close to their neighbors, but overall, they were nicely isolated. A few of the sites were not very deep because of some natural terrain features behind them but if you book through Reserve America, they tell you what the size of the site is. All sites had nice shade. The restrooms and other facilities were kept very clean and were in nice shape. The beach area is not too far from the campsites. You could ride a bike or walk, howerver there is also a large parking lot at the beach area. The only downside to this park may be that during the summer, the beach area could be quite crowded during the day, and access to the park might be a little more challenging as people are trying to come to the beach. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, but that might change a little during those busy summer months when all of the extra guests get on their nerves. We had a wonderful stay here, and I would highly recommend this campground to anyone!

What a fabulous place to stay! We wished we could have stayed longer. Beautiful beach, nice secluded sites, quiet and peaceful day and night, and a lighthouse nearby! We believe this will be a favorite to return to. We visited in late March, so there were no bugs. Sites were quiet and secluded. Neighbors were courteous and respectful of other campers, and the place was booked to capacity during Spring Break! Although it is quite close to town and numerous fun attractions, as well as grocery stores, the feeling here is of natural serenity and peacefulness. The area is pristine and undisturbed. We viewed a pair of dolphins while kayaking from the sail/kayak/canoe beach. The feeling is more like a nature preserve, no Sea-doos, ATVs or motorized toys to disturb the atmosphere. Book well in advance!

Stayed a couple of days at Anastasia on our way to Fort Wilderness at Disney and wish we would have booked more. This is a beautiful park with private, shaded sites. The beach is incredible with the kind of waves that keep the kids busy all day. And don't forget to leave some time for tour St. Augustine. Great little town with lots to see and do.

This is a beautiful park, with miles of undeveloped beach. There are just too many spiders, were talking hundreds of thousands. Our site was enclosed in a canopy of vegetation. If you like the jungle, and don't mind spiders the size of your palm, then this is a must see park. The beach is second to none. We will not return, but only because of the spiders.

Can't say enough. WHat a beautiful park and incredible campsites. No wonder I had to book 8 months out. Great sites, most have a full canopy of trees, heavily wooded, lots of privacy. Attractions = 5 because the beach is great, but we didn't do much else. They do have a nature trial and St Augustine is a great little town to tour.

Have camped here since 1989. Hasn't changed much and the scenery is beautiful. Also a good area to take children for historic lessons.
