West Chester/Philly KOA - 9/10/04 - Police Car Show

Hello all!

We'll be at the West Chester / Philly KOA on Sept. 10th for just one night... We're not even bringing the PU, we are staying in a KOA Kabin. We're entered in a Police Car Show and parade that night nearby at the Faulkner GM dealership about 15 mins from the KOA. If anyone is nearby, feel free to stop by the show (4-9 PM) or maybe stop by the KOA. We've never camped in one of their cabins before!!

PS - I miss all my fellow COTOC-ians, and look forward to seeing you guys at Hickory Run! :D

Well darn! I have wanted to see that KOA, but we will be camping at Cunningham State Park in MD that weekend. The Harrisburg RV show is also that weekend. Wish I could come and see you and enjoy the police show. We miss you too and can't wait for HR.

Sorry Rick. I will be at work on that day and at the Harrisburg RV show on the 11th. Any chance of you coming to the RV Show on Saturday??? It is the biggest one on the east coast. :)

Hello again!!

Well we got an email from that KOA stating that they cancelled our reservations and not a single KOA allows pets in their cabins. So now we are unsure what we are doing, as a last resort, I guess I'll have to drive the 3+ hours to the car show, and then drive home late at night. I don't know where to stay now. If we can find a place to stay, we would be interested in going to the Harrisburg RV show on Saturday. Anyone have any ideas??

Will you be able to bring your camper? I will be out camping, or I would have you guys stay at my house, then you can go to the RV show. Heck, you can still stay at my house if you want. If you bring your camper, you can stay at French Creek SP. I know that dogs are allowed there.

The whole problem is that I need to take our police car to the police car show, and that can't tow the camper. So we were gonna stay in a KOA cabin for one night, since we'll be "camperless" for that day. It looks like I'll just have to drive down and back in one day... I could tow the copcar down with the van and camp in the van, but that would be a PITA. :eyecrazy: Looks like we'll just have a severly long day trip... Are we :screwy: and/or :-() ???

Well we made reservations at a Motel 6. Turns out it won't be a camping/copcar weekend after all... And since we are bringing the dog, I doubt we'll be able to go to that RV show.

Rick, I can get my Jayco there for you, if you want to pop it up, it has almost everything but AC, a coffee maker and a TV. I do not live far from West Chester (30 minutes to an hour depending on traffic). I would be happy to meet you there and drop it off, then pick it up the next day, since you are only spending one night. Doggie could stay in the camper and you could go to the show.

Let me know. All I have to do is to hook up to the Bantam (sorry, but that is my baby, I'll lend the Jayco, but the Bantam stays with me...I* do not even trust Raymond with it without me) and back her out the way (about 10 feet), Push out the jayco and drop her on the Windstar.

Nothing like having an extra trailer to lend.

Hey Paula thanks so much for the offer! You must trust us to offer us your camper. We made reservations at a Motel 6 for Friday night. I got the 9th off and Steph got the 10th off, so we are gonna leave earlier than originally thought... Thanks again, and if anyone would like to come to the show that would be cool. :)

Well guys - we made it down and back... Had a great time and even brought home a trophy from the car show! I am so proud. :D

The last six pictures in that album are from the show.
We had a great time, and it was worth all the work. Next year, I will have to figure out a way to combine camping at that KOA, with the dog, with the copcar, without the camper. :eyecrazy:
