Yes, you can get a 6" drop draw bar. Walmart has the Reese in a 6" drop. And, yes, 17" is what most use as a guide - that s 17" to the top of the ball. On the Utah I used a zero rise drawbar for the 2000 F150 but when backing into my driveway (pretty steep!) I switched to a 6" drop in order to raise the back of the PU so it wouldn t drag. Then, with the Rockwood - 14" wheels with riser kit - I use the 6" drawbar turned over for a 5" rise which makes the Rockwood almost level. Big difference!

You have the 17" correct. Remember to take into account the amount of " squat" of the vehicle suspension once you get fully loaded and hooked up for towing.



Take your measurements and then load up for camping, hook up the Westlake and see how much you drop before you buy a new hitch.

We just traded our 2001 Jimmy for a 2003 Expedition. What a difference between the 4.3 v6 and the 5.4 v8 and I m sure I will see the difference in my gas milage also! My question is, how much drop am I going to need on my draw bar? I have a 2002 Westlake and if I remember correctly 17" above the ground is where I need it. If that is so then I am going to need about a 6" drop on a draw bar. Do they make one with that drop. Those of you that might have Expeditions and a Coleman what do you have.



Also I had a Reese 400 WDH for the Jimmy that I don t think that I m not going to need anymore so I will probably be putting it " on the market" for any who might be interested.
