GeneFGene the version I learned is:
Great green globs of greasey grimey gopher guts,
Mutilated monkey meat, concentrated bird s feet.
One quart jar of all purpose porpoise puss and
Me with out my spoon.

Starcraft Dad

GeneFAnd then there was this version:
Eighteen pounds of greasy grimy gopher guts,
Mutilated monkey meat, little birdies bloody feet
all wrapped up in prehistoric puppy puss
and I forgot my spoon.
Aww man, I have got to get a life!!!![:D]
I know, I know...Enough now. And to think, I m eating pizza while I m typing this. Darn sauce on the keyboard again.

GeneFOK, I ll bite (no pun) [;)]
Here s the version I learned:
Great big gobs of greasy grimey gopher guts,
chopped-up monkey meat,
perforated birdies feet.
French-fried eyeballs swimming in a pool of blood,
gee, I forgot my spoon.
Wow! Starcraft Dad was right - we DO have to get a life!! [8D][8D][8D]

GeneFMan, what a bunch of sick stuff to read just before sitting down to eat! Ugh! And I was just about to enjoy a nice bowl of horse guts fried in snot and then I had to read these disgusting songs. Totally lacking in class. Or, maybe, we might call this Gas with Class![: (]

GeneFI like to sing Opera at the campfire. Also..back in my millitary days, we had some doozies for when we were singing cadence (which I m sure other military members, and vets could attest to), but won t put them on here cause they ll get this thread locked for sure.

GeneFThanks! I think I knew the words to about 98% of those songs but they have sort of drifted away in the last 40 years or so.
BTW: " Duck" is dead on with what he says. Cadence song cannot be repeated here!!![;)]

GeneFGene, A side of you I never knew. But FUNNY! Holly and I (both being nurses) like to play Grosser than Gross with each other. This will come in handy!

Just in case you feel like singing your way around a campfire or wish you were at a campfire, this site might help you with the words.

You will find old time favorites like the one below:
GOPHER GUTS
[Tune: The Old Gray Mare]
Great green gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts, mutilated
monkey meat, dirty little pigeon s feet.
All mixed up with a pile of poison possum pus, and me without
my spoon.
And me without my spoon; and me without spoon.
Great green gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts, and me without
my spoon. [We ll use a straw!]
